ESC [ 4:4 m
SGR 4:4 draws a dotted underline beneath text: ESC [ 4:4 m. Part of the Kitty extended underline styles. Can be combined with SGR 58 for colored underlines. Reset with SGR 24.

Send \x1b[4:4mX, verify underline === "dotted".

The same probe runs against headless backends (via Termless) and real terminal apps (via a daemon launched in each terminal). This lets us distinguish parser correctness from rendering correctness.
