SGR 24 resets all underline styles — single, double, curly, dotted, and dashed. The sequence is ESC [ 24 m.

Send \x1b[4mX\x1b[24mY, verify the second cell has no underline.

The same probe runs against headless backends (via Termless) and real terminal apps (via a daemon launched in each terminal). This lets us distinguish parser correctness from rendering correctness.
